Moggi Studios
Moggi Studios is a collaborative working space for four creative companies specializing in hand made pet products. Moggi Studios provides spaces for creatives to come together and collaborate outside of their specific niche in the pet industry. The facility is completely pet friendly and provides custom crate spaces in three sizes for pets to be comfortable crated if needed. The design of Moggi Studios explores new ways to approach office space design and cater to the specif needs of the client. This studio is located in the city of Savannah, Georgia where there are a number of pet retailers to carry the products and many pet friendly restaurants, hotels, retail, and pet friendly urban natural spaces. The concept is derived from humanizing the pet and inspired by the cartoon Scooby-Doo.

Clients:
Benji + Moon: Specializes in hand made felt bed pods for cats and dogs. They also create neutral tone hand made bowls, balls, toys, and other pet accessories.
Dusen & Dusen: Specializes in matching dog sweaters for humans and dogs. Their aesthetic is geometric and modern with vibrant colors and patterns made from pure shapes. Along with dog clothing, Dusen & Dusen makes pillows and home goods which are featured throughout the studio.
PDW: Specializes in hand made dog beds and houses. These beds and houses are custom designed and mimic forms found in mid-century modern architecture. The houses are made from fine woods and incorporates metals and other natural materials.
Soul Leashes: Specializes in hand died natural fiber rope leashes. These leashes are vibrant and fun in color and are all unique and individual in style.
CONCEPT + BRANDING
Concept Statement:
The concept behind Moggi Studios is based on companionship. The intent of the studio is to create a collaborative environment with connection and communication flowing throughout. The collaboration in Moggi Studios is not only between the human connection but also the human pet relationship. Companionship focuses on a design that drives the humanization and equality of the pet.
The concept process began with a professional inspiration. For Moggi Studios, the professional inspiration looked to India Mahdavi because of her circular and organic patterns and the vibrant and fun pops of color she uses. The second part of the concept development drew inspiration from the mid-century modern style. The shapes and volumetric expressions present in mid-centry modern styles influenced the transformations between spaces in the design. The style also inspired the color palette and patterns found in the materiality. Last, the concept drew from a muse, the cartoon character Scooby-Doo. Scooby-Doo is a character that represents a parts role in a friend group as an equal and part of the gang. This is the culture that Moggi Studio represents.
